First printed in October 1899, this is the third reprint from October 1900. Set in India, this is about the adventures of a little boy - Sambo - and a tiger. It was apparently a story made up by Bannerman to tell to her two children during a long train journey. It is a sweet story, with delightful naive style illustrations. Green cloth covered boards with darker green vertical stripes and titling. Plain endpapers. All text pages presented as plates with printing only on one side. 113pp. 125x80 mm. Grubby boards, faded backstrip. Blind impressed bookseller's stamp plus name in ink [discrete] to ffep. Binding good, clean contents.
