Contains 23 full page coloured wood-cut illustrations [including frontispiece] and 22 pages of text. Each pair of text pages and each pair of plates are presented as uncut pages. Paper covered illustrated boards over blue cloth backstrip. c. 205x270 mm. More famous for her work as a sculptor, the Irish Rosamond Praeger wrote and illusrated many children's books which, due to their relative scarcity and simple charm, have become quite collectible in recent years. Corners / edges worn. Re-bound with replacement backstrip and plain endpapers [as original]. Scuffs and marks to boards, particularly lower board which has some small pencil markings. First 6 pages have been cut, remaining pages are un-cut. Occasional grubby mark inside, mainly on the earlier pages.

[1903] Contains 24 full page coloured wood-cut illustrations and 24 pages of text. Presented as uncut pages. C. 26x21 cm. Red titling to upper board with embossed picture of Kitty and Hal holding a satchel between them. Black titling to backstrip. Replacement front and rear endpapers. Binding strong and tight. Corners worn, some rubbing to edges, top / bottom of backstrip bumped. Some marks to boards and faint pencil lines. Clean contents with a few minor brown spots to half title and title pages. Short closed tear to one page edge. Note: There is no date or edition statement however research would lead me to believe that this is a first edition. In addition, the size and full title are in line with British Library first record of 1903. 8vo - over 7" - 9" Tall / Oblong.
