Classic Norwegian fairy story about three billy goats who go in search of a fresh pasture and are harrassed by a mean troll. This version has been put to verse by Blankmeyer and nicely illustrated by Holden. Holden is best known for her illustrations of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady [Horne]. Ten full page colour illustrations with black and white illustrations on chapter title pages. Blue cloth backstrip with paper covered illustrated boards and paste down illustration of goats to upper board. c. 15x13 cm. It appears to have been previously recased to strengthen binding with possible loss of free endpapers, but not sure. Corners worn, top/tail backstrip bumped. 'This belongs to' has been completed in neat writing in 1914.
