Large Christmas pop-up from Kubasta showing a street scene in Prague that is centred around a Christmas nativity / crib. In the street scene there are the families coming to visit the crib as well as people going about their daily business. Its really quite charming and as you can see from the photos the illustration is typical Kubasta. Kubasta produced about 5 of these table top nativities which had no text or story, but were a large free standing pop-up to be used as an ornament at Christmas time. Depending on how far you open it, the measurements are about 50 [width] x 25 [depth] x 25 [high] cm. 33x25 cm when closed. To the best of my knowledge as this was not published by Artia it was also not exported by Bancroft and so they are relatively rare and hard to find. They were originally published with two freestanding figures - these are missing. On the publishing details on the reverse side there is a name written in ink [see photo]. The top corner of the building on the left is soft. The little Jesus figure in the crib has a mis-fold.
