De Bethel, David The Tyrolese Cookery Book London The Medici Society Ltd. 1937 Hardcover Very Good David de Bethel Written as a sort of travelogue as the author explores the Tyrol and begs, steals and borrows the recipes that he enjoys along the way. Nicely presented with accompanying wood-cuts, in a kind of ethnic / naive style and with some interesting anecdotal information. Scrumptious recipes include: Marillen oder Zwetschen Knoedel [Apricot and Prune Dumplings], Kirschkaltschale [Cold Cherry Soup] and Mein Lieblingshonigkuchen [Honey-cakes]. Green, red and cream paper covered illustrated boards over red cloth backstrip / plain cream lower board. Lower board a little marked, free end papers tanned.
